Can you tell that I am excited for the beach? Our term project for English is to make a portfolio of our poetry. Here are some of my beach/water poems.
Sand Dollars wash up on shore
and are put in your bucket
Water washes up over your
ankles and the sand sticks
Sandcastles are built and
carried away by the tide
Laying on the warm sand to
get a bronze tan
Rolling waves carry in ocean
treasures
Starfish are sticking to the
rocks
Seaweed tangles your toes
Roasting wood on the pier
Laughter all around
Smiling families
Salty smells
Beach
Dance
is like water,
Moving
with a flow,
And
your body the stopper,
Running
through the water.
When
you stop dancing,
You
become a human.
But
when you’re dancing, you can become a different person.
You
become anyone you want,
Water
can become any color you dye it.
Baking sand that burns your toes.
Eating at Katy’s Café for breakfast.
Allowing money to be spent freely.
Caution for the sharks.
Happy, bickering free family vacation.
